i agree with this and i dont agree with oxlong to often but the chiefs D is playing ok i didnt see the browns game but i know wallace was playing who is a back up, and i think the rain took the chargers out of what they wanted to do. rivers couldnt hit water if he fell out of a boat. they are getting the breaks and its good but i dont see it happening for too long with the quarterback play they are getting from cassel

Chiefs (good, bad, whatever) vs 49ers @ Arrowhead will be like everytime 49ers play there, 41-0 in 2006, 44-9 in 1997 and of course when Joe beat them back in the their last superbowl winning season of 1994.. Looking at the 49ers schedule I see a best of 8-8 and a crapty 1-4, 0-5 start.

I know you probably live on the east coast, being an Eagles fan, but is this the first time you ever seen Smith play and Raye coach?

Who at this point would you like them to play under center this season? David Carr? It's not Alex Smith's fault he's Alex Smith. If you want to call for anyone's head, it should be the person that made the decision NOT to bring in a new QB and just stick with Smith for 2010.

And, as far as Raye, how is the play-calling last night any different than what we have seen from him for 30 years? ............ what you saw last night IS a Jimmy Raye offense. Why would they fire someone that's doing exactly what they hired him to do?

alex looked real good last night. if he plays like he did on that last drive... the niner's will not have to worry about a QB for like 7 or more years. he looked like a man. jimmy raye is a really good coach. he does some dumb crap like that westbrook wildcat failure but he utilizes talented players like delanie walker. if walker just would have went down. good play. im hoping this was alex smith's coming out party.

i agree that, for Alex Smith, he played well last night. i think any niners fan would take that performance from Smith week in and week out right now. Is he Peyton Manning? No, but he minimized his mistakes and made some plays.

And, as far as Raye, he's never going to single-handedly win a lot of games but that's not his job. He was brought in to design an offense and call plays that would help them win games with their defense and he's doing the job he was hired to do. He's no genius but you can't blame the guy for doing his job.

he's just excited that smith looked like an nfl-caliber qb last night sweets .....:icon_cheesygrin: ...... give him a break sweets. if smith were to play like that week in and week out, that may be enough for the niners to win some games. he's never going to morph into a hall of famer but he could be trent dilfer, couldn't he?

well, not 7 more years but he could be dilfer or brad johnson for a while and help the niners win.

It's ashame that for alot of us 49ers fans we consider his performace on Monday, "real good"... Has it really been that long since we had a pro bowl QB? I guess it really has. I have said after many games in the past that it was Smith's coming out party but the next week he throws 6 INT's and single handedly costs us the game.
