An Irish pub in Tampa, Florida, used a live web feed to show the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ game against the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers, the Tampa Tribune reported Monday. O’Brien's Irish Pub & Grill defied the NFL’s blackout policy by displaying the web-based feed on TVs throughout the bar. The NFL’s blackout law requires home games to be sold out 72 hours before kickoff in order for them to air live on local television stations. The NFL is looking into the matter further to determine whether owner Bernie O’Brien infringed the league’s copyright. The pub reportedly pulled in approximately 200 customers Sunday and O’Brien told the Tampa Tribune his was not the only local establishment working its way around the blackouts.

    NFL <<<<<< Internet

There's nothing the league will be able to do to individuals, and if the government really wanted to systematically clean up the internet, I think there's a few things that would be higher on the priority list. You'll be fine, establishments showing them in public are a whole lot easier to go after than a guy and his IP address.
