Sign of goodwill after David Price and Evan Longoria ripped the Tampa Bay fans? Or a brilliant trap set up by Rays owner Stu Sternberg?
Just heard all the free tix have been handed out. I still can't figure out the motivation behind this?
I heard about this earlier today. What I can't understand is where did everyone go? It's not like your in the bottom of the AL East
Bet they still won't "sell" out, they have a great team and no one will go see them which really sucks.
The game was sold out. Strange that a Reds fan would question another team's attendance when your teams barely had more fans on average per game than the Rays - 20th in attendance this season, that's not too great......
If the Rays of the past few years were the Reds, I think they would have no problem selling those seats most of the year. This isn't a new problem for Florida based sports by any means. I don't live in Cinci so admittedly my ear isn't right next to the fan's pulse, but pretty much all year, fans were waiting for the Reds to go thru their yearly collapse. When it didn't happen in May, people were surpised. After June, people were really surprised. By the All Star break and beyond, people were shocked and finally figured the Reds were for real this season. And they were. By the tail end of the regular season Cinci had the third largest jump in attendance compared to the same point last season. If you need evidence of how Reds fans attend games, look at how competitive their opening day ticket sales are, because the team usually gives up which certainly affects yearly attendance. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Sorry to go so far off topic.
