This is all gonna be more on a personnel level. Not really wanting to get into exection and coaching right meow - Wade Phillips needs to stop being a massive cat about young players. Lee should be the the Nickle, and Im starting to hope AOA can move into FS by week 8. Knowing Phillips, no freaking chance - Interior run blocking is something we are going to have to shore up in a hurry. Koiser cant stay healthy, and Davis's skills seem to be rapidly eroding. It might wind up our downfall this season. The wallett is gonna have to open up this offseason. - The "Recieving" corps has been the real strength. Austin has been out of his mind, and Bryant and Williams are making impacts. Witten is off to a slow start, but Bennett has carved out a solid nitch as a shirt yardage target. he is on pace for 60 catch's - Our HB's are trash until further notice. Dont know why the insistence on featuring Barber. he is gonna be trash by week 12 - Free has been the only real bright spot on the line. He's played out of his mind facing some serious matchups. Peppers,Carter and Williams combine for 31 sacks last year and he has yet to give one up - Im almost on the Resign Spears bandwagon. Not sexy, but 20 games no 100 yard rusher, and we suffocate the first two opponents. The Wade gets cute and trys to get a rush in base with Bowen/Hatcher and what happens...........Foster gash's us. - Im getting sold more and more on Church/McCray. Niether is a future starter. But IMO Church is gonna be another Keith Davis (Solid backup SS, ST whiz)and McCray another Watkins (flex FS/SS, ST whiz).........very valuable backups. There is a reason Watkins has been around so long - I wonder if Josh Brent can be a 5 Tech in our system...........intereting - Scandrick WILL NEVER be a starter in our system. He is a good NCB, but has no Zone ability to play outside in a system that thrives with disguised coverage
Pretty much spot on. Especially this... I remember when everyone (the media) was saying Scandrick should start over Jenkins.. I am sure glad that played out like it did. I think Jenkins will turn into something special.

I understand it's the 3-4 and all but it would be nice to see our ends do something, like get on the stat sheet. I don't think I've heard the announcers say either Spears or Olshanskys name this season, not once in 4 games. Aside from when they announce the starters. Just something that's been bugging me.
the main problem for the cowboys is their awful offensive line. That's only part of the reason why their running game is non existent. Garrett gets too pass happy to the point where opposing teams just know whats coming and pin their ears back. On the defense side of things, if they don't get to the QB they don't win. Jenkins killed them with shoddy coverage and penalties against the Titans. This week is no easier, the Vikings and Cowboys are going to be extremely desperate here. The Vikings are going to look at what the Titans did. And then they have the Giants 2 out of 3 weeks.
Im done with our whole defensive system. Its bullcrap. Skillset > Talent bullcrap You take out Spears and put in Bowen in base = You get gashed in the run You leave Spears in = Nothing happens..........and you still get gashed I hope we do away with the one gap NT bullcrap after this season. Its cute and all, and its nasty when everything is firing on all cylinders. Buts its too Skillset > Talent, and we are left with mediocre players like Spears, Oshlansky, James and Sensibaugh just because they "fit the scheme"
Bowen needs to be converted to DT. And we really do need a DE to replace Olshansky. Even Igor could be moved inside. Brent can go to the PR. You agree with me though that we do need some sort of production of them.
Ya, I dont think we are ever going to get it in this defense tho. Both can hold there own as two gappers, but are too average to make play's. And Bowen and Hatcher get washed anytime they have to play 2 gap. With Rat at NT, you have no choice but to play 2 gaps with both 5 Techs Personally I like Brent. I think he needs more snaps with Ratliff at DE. If we are going to be an "exotic" team, we need more fronts. Teams can spot or blitzes a mile a way. ILB up the gut, ILB up the gut, DB of the edge, ILB up the gut, and maybe an ILB up the gut to throw teams off. Wade Phillips is a freaking genius because he has managed to create a vanilla exotic defense
