Andy Reid said quarterback Michael Vick injured his chest and will have an MRI in the morning to determine the severity. Reid said he “goofed” on the play at the end of the first half that led to the Eagles taking a delay of game penalty. He said the team had a play called for inches and that when they got to the play it was more like a yard. “That’s my fault,” Reid said. “I’m trying to explain the thought process on it and that’s where I’m going to end it. We had the play called for inches and inches weren’t inches when that thing were started … The position of the ball wasn’t where we thought. From where it was originally was and where it ended up being were two different spots. That’s my responsibility. I’m not here to complain about the officials. I’m not here to complain about anybody else. I goofed.” Replays showed Kevin Kolb walking on the field with the play clock at 11 seconds remaining. “I wasn’t surprised that the clock was moving,” Reid said. “I was surprised with how quick it was moving with when it was started with the spot.” Reid again said it was a tale of two halves. “It was two games,” he said. “The first half we didn’t play very well, the second half we came out and did some things … They did a better job than we did.” Source: Philadelphia Daily News
and buck and aikman are such idiots, they sat there and lambasted the officiating crew for starting the clock 'too early' ............... wtf? it was a 30 sec timeout. after 30 secs, the play clock starts. those are the rules. buck and aikman are horrible.
Not intending to troll, but when Kolb was out there, the playcalling turned into Jason Garrett checkdown mania. Goofed doesn't cover the Eagles monumental fail yesterday. **********Automerged Doublepost********** Oh, and Buck is a twat.
no, andy is right. morniwheg completely dumbed down the play calling once kolb was in there. having said that, there WERE plays that kolb should have gone downfield but did not so not only did morniwheg pucker up, but so did Kolb.
So you agreed with both of us... of course it would be a bit of both, question is why would he "dumb down" the play calling? Cause he needed to? Combo of o-line and Kolb starign at the rush.
only morniwheg and reid could answer that for sure but the switch was SO drastic, I think it's very telling that the Philly coaches don't have a ton of confidence in Kolb.
This. Their offense had some adventure in it with Vick under center and they let him take some shots downfield with both his arms and legs. He got injured and the offense went into it's shell and caused the Redskins very little trouble thereafter. Kolb had no confidence whatsoever, which is understandable of the situation he's gone through, but he's gotta take advantage when he does get the chance to shine.
