Worst O-Lines Thus Far In 2010

    1) Chicago Bears -- They can't run block. They can't pass block. This line will hold the Bears back from making a playoff run if they don't get better .............. fast.

    2) Denver Broncos -- If it weren't for their receiving corps, the Broncos would be a horrid team and their o-line is a big reason. Having said that, in all fairness, they are VERY young and should get better.

    3) St. Louis Rams -- Struggling mightily, especially in the run game, but, like the Broncos, they are a young group that should improve.

    4) Carolina Panthers -- Even with some good running backs, this unit is having trouble establishing the run and their pass blocking leaves a lot to be desired. They should get better when Otah comes back.

    5) Seattle Seahawks -- This unit can get completely overpowered at times and make their offense look completely inept.

    Honorable Mentions:

San Francisco 49ers -- Very young but seem lost at times.
Cincinnati Bengals -- Major problem for them if they have playoff aspirations
Detroit Lions -- This unit has a lot of experience and should be better than they are

Ours was total crap at the beginning of the season and should definitely be worse than they are playing with who is in there, but they seem to be getting the job done as of late.

Eight teams have given up more sacks and Seven worse in run average...but hey, who cares about official stats and the fact that the offense is massively outperforming last years despite having less weapons available.

the cowboys line can actually pass block .......they're still working on the run blocking

raiders line hasn't been horrible. it hasn't been great but they've been able to make some holes for mcfadden in the running game and if their qb's could make a decision, their pass blocking wouldn't look so bad.

Thank you on behalf of the Bears organization who have put in the long hours to make this the worst OL in all of football.

Yes, they could have sat on their laurels after being horrible last year but using the time honored 'shell game' football technique, they 'upgraded' during the off season by moving a RT to LT, a LG to RT, & stood pat at C & RG with backups of retreads/rookies. Just can't beat that type of foresight.

Please forward the trophy to Halas Hall...

not sure where the eagles o-line would rank as i havent watched any football beyond the eagles this year but they aren't that good. the sucess the eagles had against the lions and jags was not because of anything the line did. vick should get most if not all of the credit.

that said the line actually looked decent in the 2nd half against the skins. kolb had time but didn't look down field because he seems shell shocked.

personally, i would put them middle of the road in the league. vick has saved their asses a lot of times.

Anyone who relies solely on sack stats to evaluate O Line performance is simply clueless.

?? who in this thread has done that ?? i don't think anyone discussing this thread has just brought up sack stats.

Some Rams fan near the start brought up stats.

eh, i think he was just trying to build a case for his team. he's a rams fan so i'm sure he just feels they're doing ok. and they have done 'better' this year, but they still have a way to go.

In his defense I actually agree with him to a point - just think he used the wrong method of trying to state his case.

well, from what i have seen, bradford has saved their asses at times in the passing game. he's making quick decisions and has a quick release. however, he's under pressure and getting hit a lot. in addition, their run blocking looks anemic most of the time. they're having trouble making any sort of holes for their rb's and many times the defense is in the backfield before the running back has the ball.

but, as i mentioned, they are a young group. one of their tackles is a rookie and the other is only in his 2nd year. i think goldberg is a liablility and they need to figure out how to replace him next season and brown and bell are just 'ok'. you put all of that together, and you have an o-line that isn't going to be real impressive.

As their tackles gain experience and they upgrade the middle of their line through the draft or FA after this season, it could become a formidable line. but, right now, it is not.

If Rodgers wouldn't be that mobile, our stats would look worse too
