Brett Favre has multimillion-dollar endorsement deals on products like Wrangler jeans that hinge on his keeping his family-man persona. "You are talking about family-friendly brands that partnered with Brett and who believe he was the all-American, great family guy and country boy," said Matt Delzell, group account director of Davie-Brown Talent, part of The Marketing Arm, which ranks celebrities' appeal and influence. Favre, 40, took in an estimated $7 million last year in endorsements and is ranked No. 301 out of 2,599 celebrities on the Davie-Brown Index. "Family-oriented sponsors don't like this stuff. They are hoping it passes and is gone by the weekend," said Mike Paul, president of MGP & Associates, a reputation-management firm. If it continues into next week, I think they will have some discussions." Source: New York Post
He surely didn't care about the money, but about his image. If you don't know when to retire, some bad things can happen. On and off the field...
Could Brett Favre's career finally end because of a suspension? Not anyone would ever possibly imagine such a scenario.....but that could happen if there is substantial evidence found against him. Goodell wouldn't hesitate to suspend him.....regardless of his status.
