I was actually going to list the top 3 defenses but after the Giants and Steelers, I couldn't figure out which of the remaining 5 teams should be #3 so we'll just do the top 7.

New York Giants -- They have been damn scary their last few games. Other than their slip-up against the Colts, this defense has been incredibly nasty and is powered by their D-line, which is finally living up to expectations.

Pittsburgh Steelers -- They have looked human the last couple of games but as long as Polamalu is healthy, they will be one of the best in the league.

Chicago Bears -- If they stay healthy (which is a big IF), they can play with anyone

Baltimore Ravens -- Even with new players, they are dominating

San Diego Chargers -- Don't blame their special team woes and offensive turnovers on this defense. They have been playing lights out.

Minnesota Vikings -- Don't forget about this bunch. They are older but still one of the best.

New York Jets -- So much talent. They have back-up players that would be starters on most teams.

Fill out the rest of the Top 10 ..................

Yeah Chiefs have allowed 50 points in 4 games - an average of 16.5 points per game. Held Peyton Manning to 19. They've been very impressive. Bengals allowed 38 points to the Patriots and 23 to the Browns. 24 to the Bucs - many of which were the offense's fault - but definitely NOT top 7.

as much as I would like to see the Giants mentioned as one of the top defenses, as of right now I would have to say they are on the bubble. I need to see them sustain this type of defense they have been playing for more than 2 games. The texans are the only legit top team they beat. The bears at 4-1 are frauds. They should have lost to Green Bay and Detroit.

What I like about the Giants defense, The coverage is much better and they are getting a pass rush without all the heavy blitzing. The Giants have the best defensive line in football. Osi is returning to form, and Tuck is playing like the leader we all knew he could be. Canty is healthy and a force up front and Cofield is playing with a chip on his shoulder after an injury filled 2009. and the Wildcard is Pierre-Paul who has the talent to be better than Tuck or Osi maybe even one of the best defensive ends in years and wait until Linvail Joseph gets to make his mark.

I wish we had more depth at LB. Goff has been great so far, Boley has been outstanding in run and pass rush situations.

Let's see what the next 3 games brings the Gmen.

Here's to the Giants being hopefully for real. I hope that what we are seeing is them getting their legs under them in Fewell's new defense.

"If I was one of our offensive opponents, I'd be scared crapless,"' said safety Antrel Rolle when ask how he'd feel watching film of the Giants D over the last 2 weeks..

    Back it up!

Against teams with weak to bad offensive lines like the Cowboys and Eagles, the Giants are going to feast.

Something worth mentioning is the Giants secondary, statistically is in the top 5 in opposign quarterback completion percentage, yards against and QB rating.

A far cry from last year. That's why opposing QBs are holding onto the ball, they cant get to open receivers.

But the Giants can't get to complacent here. Just continue playing with a chip on their shoulders and for the love of god, stay healthy.
