Vikings QB Brett Favre Would Consider Missing Games To Rest Elbow

Discussion in 'Minnesota Vikings' started by BigBlueBruiser, Oct 13, 2010.

  1. Vikings QB Brett Favre said Wednesday he would consider resting his sore elbow and sitting out games. Favre grabbed his elbow several times after throwing passes in the Vikings' 29-20 loss to the Jets on Monday. He admitted that the accuracy of his passes was affected by the elbow tendinitis he is fighting through. "You're not going to make every throw, but I would have made some of those throws," Favre said. He wore a wrap on the elbow as he spoke. Favre added, "I don't want to play just to play." Two years ago, Favre acknowledged that he should have rested his injured biceps when he was a member of a Jets team that started out 8-3 but missed the playoffs, and Favre currently has a consecutive games-played streak of 289, and 313 counting playoff games.

He should if he's not 100%. which it looks like he isn't. Rest for 2 weeks 3 if need be and come back healthy when Rice comes back or sooner but just get healthy. I think Tavaris Jackson is a decent game manager and with their weapons they could possibly win with him.

I guess the 1-3 start has nothing to do with this....

  4. Cal Ripken ended his own consecutive games streak....only fitting Favre did the same.

he won't, simply because if Tavaris comes out on fire and plays well for a few games and they win after going 1-3 behind him, how does he look? lol
