Shawne Merriman Has To Pass Physical, Take Less Pay To Sign With Ravens?

Discussion in 'Baltimore Ravens' started by BigBlueBruiser, Oct 18, 2010.

  1. The Ravens would have interest in Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman if he both passes a physical in the next 24 hours and agrees to sign for a low-money deal, according to Sports Illustrated's Peter King. It remains to be seen what type of deal Merriman will be looking for if he does pass his physical. He'll likely need to sign for cheap if he wants an opportunity to revive his career.

Situational pass rusher, few snaps a game, why not. Im not expected a whole lot but it couldnt hurt.

Is he out for this year regardless?

No, he was put on some sort of temporary situational IR that only last like a month or something. This'd be an interesting signing if the price was right - our pass rush has been god awful this season.

No they put him on some type of minor injury IR, once he gets healthy the Chargers have to release him.

  6. Merriman should be released by the first week of November......

Not too worried about Merriman being a Raven, unless of course he gets some juice.

This would be particularly ironic for me on account of the amount of time I've spent ripping on Merriman both on here and to friends, if he came to play for us and got his crap together I guess I'd be a Merriman supporter

we say he doesn't have much left but how many charger players are not playing well because they don't like playing for them? Look at L.T. Has Merriman just been cashing paychecks and not giving much effort?

49ers are interested and would prolly pay more but personally id rather take a pay cut and play for a contender rather then a bunch of losers. Yes im being hard on my team by my god they are AWFUL!!!

He's going to be waived, not be a free agent. Whoever has waiver priority and wants him will get him.

  12. Correct......

The waiver procedure will be in reserve order......2010 records will apply.

2010 records huh? Seems odd that it wouldn't be this seasons standings, are you sure about that?

  14. Yes....the procedure began right before Trent Edwards was claimed by Jacksonville.

please, please, please pass your physical...

I'd love to see the Ravens waste a roster spot on Merriman.
