Are things starting to get back to normal even though the early part of the season started out weird? The Steelers, Colts, Saints, and Eagles are getting back to winning....... The Chiefs, Bears, Bucs, and Redskins are getting back to losing......... or will things continue to be weird the rest of the season?

This week, you will notice a new WTF? poll where you can vote for the team ranking position in the formula that makes you scratch your head and say WTF? the most.

    This mathematical formula factors:

     Wins
     Losses
     Strength of Opponent
     Home Field Advantage
     Margin of Victory
     Yards gained
     Yards allowed

#1 Jets (5-1) 49.52 -- Is anyone still questioning their superior talent up and down the roster?

#2 Steelers (4-1) 49.05 -- Ben looked pretty good in his return. Steelers are happy.

#3 Colts (4-2) 37.35 -- All they do is win. Amazing organization.

#4 Giants (4-2) 34.87 -- Did enough to get the victory but not quite as dominant.

#5 Ravens (4-2) 29.52 -- They can play with anyone and don't get blown out

#6 Saints (4-2) 20.47 -- Finally the real Saints show up

#7 Falcons (4-2) 20.43 -- Very disturbing game on Sunday. Legit teams don't get dominated in every facet.

    #8 Titans (4-2) 16.87 -- A more complete team than they've been in a long time

#9 Patriots (4-1) 16.83 -- Their defense is still a concern to me at playoff time unless they improve

#10 Packers (3-3) 15.97 -- Just too many injuries. Can they I.R. the season?

    #11 Eagles (4-2) 13.94 -- QB controversy #2 brewing?

#12 Chargers (2-4) 12.15 -- Sunday was the first game that the Chargers didn't dominate in the trenches. Now is the time to panic and try to turn it around.

#13 Bengals (2-3) 11.34 -- Can they fix themselves with the bye week?

#14 Bears (4-2) 8.01 -- THE BEARS ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!

    #15 Chiefs (3-2) 6.30 -- Off of Cloud 9 but not dead

#16 Cowboys (1-4) 4.72 -- They are just 45 individual guys out there trying to 'get mine' and don't know how to win as a team.

#17 Redskins (3-3) 0.90 -- Playing very tough. Never out of a game.

#18 Dolphins (3-2) 0.45 -- Playing so much better on the road than at home. They should petition the league to play their remaining schedule all on the road.

#19 Texans (4-2) -4.26 -- Did the 4th quarter on Sunday save their season?

#20 Buccaneers (3-2) -4.95 -- They are going to get some more wins because they are scrappy. They will also get blown out some more because they are still a work in progress.

#21 Broncos (2-4) -5.40 -- They are hanging tough but just don't have much other than a passing game.

#22 Seahawks (3-2) -7.20 -- The Hawks won a road game? They probably just locked up the NFCW by winning that road game.

#23 Lions (1-5) -11.70 -- Wish they weren't so dinged up this season. I would have liked to have seen how much they have improved.

#24 Vikings (2-3) -13.95 -- Won the Panic Bowl but they are still not right.

#25 49ers (1-5) -15.98 -- Finally got the monkey off their back but the list of concerns is still a mile long with this team.

#26 Rams (3-3) -16.65 -- Learning how to win and handing some embarassing losses to some respectable teams.

#27 Cardinals (3-2) -17.53 -- Worst 2-loss team in the league? Yep, sounds about right.

#28 Browns (1-5) -23.43 -- I thought McCoy played o.k. considering the circumstances. Maybe keep him in there the rest of the year to see what you've got.

    #29 Jaguars (3-3) -23.44 -- Just so inconsistent. I don't get them.

#30 Raiders (2-4) -26.10 -- Other than week 1, the Raiders are putting themselves in position to win games. They just need to finish.

#31 Panthers (0-5) -50.85 -- Going back with Matt Moore? Why?

#32 Bills (0-5) -60.79 -- I have to say something positive about them this week ............ um, er .............. well, they didn't LOSE this week.

    steelers>jets

its only a matter of time until everyone knows it, and by that i mean when they play in december

  6. Every power poll I came across.....ESPN, CBS, NFL.com...etc has the Chargers no higher than in the early 20's.

    Dallas doesn't deserve such a ranking either. 2-4 & 1-4 is 2-4 & 1-4.

There are what they are. The Rams should be given some more credit. No one expected them to be .500 at this point, especially with a rookie QB.

    i hope you're right.

yep, this formula likes the chargers and the cowboys, even though they aren't winning much right now. we'll see how the season plays out.

the chargers are 0-4 on the road and have 2 blowout wins at home. 6 of their next 8 games are at home though.

and, likewise, even though the cowboys have been losing a lot of close games, the formula thinks they are an average team that should win some games by the end of the season.

But no poll really knows what's going to happen. Not an opinion poll and not a formula. Where did everyone have the Titans in their 'power polls' at this time last season? They were probably lower than people have the Chargers this season but then the Titans proceeded to rattle off 8 out of 10 and almost made the playoffs.

Conversely, this was about the time last season when everyone finally became convinced that the Broncos were for real and had them in them in their top 5 and then they proceeded to fall on their faces and couldn't beat anyone the rest of the season.

Late October/early november is the time when the contenders start separating themselves from the pretenders anyway so we will know soon enough who is for real.

I went Chargers because I am just more used to people giving Dallas more credit then they deserve but it usually goes the other way with SD

    VikingsFan28 Wherever Alex Morgan is

How the hell are we still 8 spots below a team that has a worse record, and we beat them last week?

I dont think the Yards gained or allowed should matter ( i dont mind the Strength of Opponent, Home Field Advantage, or Margin of Victory) but a win is a win. also those yards dont account for defensive yards or special teams yards, which can be key (i.e. Dallas Minnesota game)

These yardage factors are the only thing keeping Dallas afloat

i think the eagles at 11 is too high

kidding, i think they should be higher possibly even ahead of the Giants

  16. FOX Sports had it right where they placed Dallas......26th. They appear to be a 7-9 club......at best.

um, wouldn't 7-9 be closer to #16, where my formula has them ranked instead of #26 .......... ??? :icon_confused:

  18. I said at best. :icon_wink:

    Realistically.....5-11.

Yes, you did say "at best"... and anyway power ranking are based on right now, week 6, so Capt. doesn't get that argument anyway..

well, they have dug themselves a hole for sure and they may completely implode, cash in the season, and only finish with 4 or 5 wins. However, I don't see how anyone could watch film of all 32 teams and seriously convince themselves that the Cowboys are a bottom 10 team with the likes of the Browns, Raiders, 49ers, etc.

No one would be shocked if the Cowboys or Chargers win 5 in a row. However, if the Browns, Raiders, 49ers, etc. won 5 in a row, they would be the talk of the nfl world. The Cowboys and Chargers have shown this year that they CAN dominate anyone in the trenches. A bottom 10 team doesn't have that ability.
