    But, here's the thing.

Technology has changed since the last time the NFL had a strike. I'm sure that some NFL fans will call their local DirecTV provider and get the NFL Sunday Ticket.

Can you imagine the players playing in stadiums that are only half full?

by the looks of many of the games i've seen this year, it's already happening .................... a lot of these games may technically be 'sold out' or close to sold out, but there aren't as many butts in the seats as usual. I think a lot of people are choosing to stay at home and watch on tv instead of spending the extra money for parking, concessions, etc even though they already bought the ticket.

and, this may affect the lockout situation. a lot of the owners' revenue comes from parking, concessions, etc and if that revenue tails off this year, then the owners may dig their heels in even more about the lockout because the tv revenue is guaranteed whether they play or not.

Whatever happens, the sports landscape in 2011 promises to be vastly different. Remember that there is a very good chance that the NBA will go on strike in 2011. The owners want the players to take a pay cut, which the players don't want to do.

yep, it's almost the same situation in the NBA. Both groups of owners are threatening lockout unless the players take large pay cuts.
