A 1-6 start hasn't drained the optimism from receiver Roy Williams, who is confident that the Dallas Cowboys can recover and run the table the rest of the season. "We can go nine in a row, if you ask me," Williams said Thursday. "People can call me stupid or whatever, but this football team has the core of players, it has the supporting cast of players to win nine in row. We just got to get it started just for other players to be like, 'All right, we got it now.'" The 1970 Cincinnati Bengals are the only team in NFL history to recover from a 1-6 start to make the playoffs. Williams believes the Cowboys can become the second, although he acknowledges that the Cowboys probably need to win the rest of their games to earn a playoff berth, and Williams' dreams don't stop at just making the playoffs. He's still talking about the Cowboys playing in the Super Bowl in their home stadium. "It would be a great storybook ending," Williams said. "It would be awesome. I don't know if they'd put us in the Hall of Fame for that if this [team] was going to go on and win the Super Bowl, but it's a tough feat to cross. But if there is any team in the league that can do it, it's the Dallas Cowboys." Williams expressed similar optimism in the middle of losing seasons during his tenure with the Detroit Lions but he admits now, however, that he didn't really believe it at the time, but Williams insists that his confidence in the Cowboys hasn't waned despite a schedule that includes six remaining games against teams with winning records, beginning with Sunday's road game against the NFC North-leading Green Bay Packers. "I've just been a believer, man," Williams said. "I've just been a believer in this football team. Lot's of hate in this thread.. lol I applaud what Williams said. He is just being optimistic. Think about if he would of just said "Screw it, we suck"? Just saying that he is just trying to make the best of the situation. I like how he is trying to be positive. But I guess I am the only one. *shrugs*
