Congrats Raider fans, both the Chiefs and the Raiders played like ass, but you guys won the ugly one. I'm completely embarrassed of the Chiefs right now and I knew that the mistakes that they had been making would bite them in the butt eventually. Finally did.
defenses played 'ok'. both offenses were mediocre. lots of penalties, bad passes, special teams mistakes, blown coverages. In general, I don't know if either team should be overly-excited about their performances yesterday.
I will have to say that was some of the worst officiating I've seen in NFL in a while. It went both ways too. Those refs definitely get an F from my stand point.
A few thoughts even though I'm still very disappointed. We've got a real problem scoring points. This is 2 weeks in a row where we had opportunities to put the game out of reach early and we didn't score points when we had good opportunities to do so. The officiating was the worst I've seen in the NFL but went both ways. We did a lot to beat ourselves but so did the Raiders and they still took the game. I have no idea how Jacoby Ford got that ball away from Flowers at the end of regulation. Even on replays I don't know how Flowers didn't pick that ball. They beat us in OT by beating our best defensive player....they earned the win for sure. In general we were way to pass heavy in our gameplan. Cassel had 35 attempts in a game that we led majority of the time and when we trailed it was only by 1 point. We didn't try to run enough, especially with Charles. Jones was completely ineffective. Charles was really good as usual. Jamaal 10 carries for 53 yards, 5 catches for 47 yards. What the heck is going on Charlie Weis? 15 touches for your most explosive player? Against the 26th ranked run defense??????? Oh by the way, Thomas Jones 19 carries for 32 yards. Absolutely no excuse for that is likely the reason we lost. Reverse the carries and it's a different game. Seymour abused Brian Waters...sad to see, but Brian, while still good, isn't what he used to be. In addition to not scoring points, we are horrible in short yardage. We missed multiple 2nd and 3rd and short conversions. No excuse for that. We missed a huge opportunity yesterday and that's why I'm so disappointed.
I think it's Maurice Carthon, but that aside, that was just one of the many issues in why we lost. If we played a decent freaking game, we blow them out. Same for the Raiders.
The horrible officiating in this game was very irritating...bad calls against both teams to the point of being ridiculous! I really think the refs should get huge fines for OBVIOUS bad calls in all the games they officiate...maybe then, they wouldn't be so freaking flag happy....:icon_evil: Anyway...congrats on the win Raider fans!! Congrats 2 the Raiders...they broke the record against all odds and with Ford having a monster second half. i still cant believe Ford stole that INT back 4 a catch. Chiefs had their shots 2 put this game away (points left in first half...not running the clock out) and fumbled them all almface:. Bad Refs all game long against both teams and the Raider pulled it out. I just wish i knew what Cable said 2 his team at halftime when we shut them out in the first half.
