Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards got into a heated argument with rookie cornerback Chris Cook on the sideline in the third quarter. Afterward, players were clearly unhappy with the performance of Cook and Asher Allen. "I was just going over there to try and light a fire under them," Edwards said about the exchange. "Just make plays. Everybody do your job." Cook declined to talk about the incident and cut off an interview when asked about his struggles. "That's not even something to be talking to the media about," Cook said when asked about the argument. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw at Cook and Allen repeatedly and he completed 22 of 31 passes for 301 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. “Quarterbacks and offensive coordinators are very smart,†Antoine Winfield said. “They’re going to go after the young guy. So this gives the young guys chances to make a name for themselves. Either you’re going to crumble under the pressure or you’re going to stand up and hold your own. We just didn’t do that today.†Source: Star-Tribune
bigsexy, Vikings traded their 5th cb for a wideout, who is now having a better year than the #3 or #4 for the Vikes (#2 tore his ACL). So after that, only Chris Cook, Asher Allen, and Lito Shepard were left, then they brought in Frank Walker. The rookie isn't starting, he only comes in during the nickle package, but it doesn't seem to make a difference who's in, might as well let the young guys get some experience. The only respectable starter is Antoine Winfield.
True, being all the QB's are going to test them to see if they are the weak link. However, some like McCourty of the Pats handle it and do well.
