Miami Hurricanes To Hire Ex-NFL Coach Jon Gruden?

Jon Gruden may be leaving the Monday Night Football broadcast booth, but not to return to the NFL. Per Lake Lewis of Sports Journey Broadcast Network, Gruden will take over as head coach at the University of Miami. The deal, which is yet to be finalized, should be worth about $3 million per season. Gruden’s name was rumored in virtually every head coaching vacancy in the NFL over the past two seasons. The Canes ousted Randy Shannon following a disappointing 7-5 season and poor attendance.

I call bullcrap.

 

Look at the source. I have a real hard time believing this is true.

 

Gruden would set that team back 10 years if they hired him.

 

We'll find out Monday Night regardless......

 

Looks like we will see Matt Millen taking his place on MNF.

 

Bite your tongue on that. Millen is worse than Gruden.

 

I don't see Gruden schmoozing kids parents very well.

 

lol...Omen and the fanbase of Dallas has just breathed a sigh of relief if this is true...

 

I don't know who the third person will be in the booth if Gruden leaves. I wish him well, but I don't think he will be happy in that role at Miami.

 

I loved John Madden and Al Michaels on MNF when it was still on ABC....

 

Again no way Miami is going to hire this guy. Miami's president Donna Shalala cares too much about graduation rate to hire Gruden who wouldn't give two craps about the kids off the field.

 

If this is indeed true......I would put Steve Young in the booth to replace Gruden.

 

...and the Cowboys fans shake their heads in disappointment.
