In the midst of the Titans six-game losing streak, Titans head coach Jeff Fisher is already having to answer job security questions, as the Titans have ultimately faded from playoff contention. Despite starting the 2010 season 5-2 after a dismal 0-6 start to the 2009 season, the Titans have stumbled down the stretch, starting three different quarterbacks on the season, including rookie quarterback Rusty Smith. Fisher, who is under contract through next season, said on Friday that in the midst of a difficult losing streak, job security is not a concern. "It's never been a concern of mine," Fisher said. "I don't come to work being concerned about that. I come to work to put a day's work in and try to get a team ready to win games. It's not a concern and will not be a concern." Distractions have derailed this team and none looms larger than the one between Fisher and quarterback Vince Young. Fisher, who said on Friday that he has not spoken with Young, did say that Titans owner Bud Adams understands the difficulties that this season has presented. "I think he understands. He clearly understands what happened this season, particularly the instability at the quarterback position, injuries up front on the defensive line, and he understands what has happened," Fisher said. "He doesn't like it, like we don't like it. He's not happy with it, nor are we. But, we move on. You get yourself prepared to play and win the next game."

Deep down, he really doesn't want to coach the Titans anymore. I think he would rather go to some place like Houston, San Francisco, or Cincinnati and get a fresh start. Come to think of it, Green Bay lost to the hapless Lions so if the Packers want to part ways with Mike McCarthy, that could be another destination for Fisher.

  6. the Titans have been a great team in some years just not when it matters.

I think Fisher is the right guy right now (this may change next year) but MAJOR changes must happen.

I thought you already knew that.

  11. never said that. I think he would be too keep VY over Fisher. My saying that isn't a reflection on how much I want Fisher to stay as much as I want VY gone.

Somethings telling my Bud is going to go with VY, stay tuned.

  13. I won't disagree I just hope this doesn't happen. VY has shown time and time and time again he isn't the franchise QB.

he shouldn't be worried...if the Titans fire him, he'll get another coaching position or a TV gig. He'll be just fine.

  15. I think the coaching position is more likely.
