In a game in which Cincinnati's defense limited the Steelers to three field goals and he led only one scoring drive, Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer continued an alarming trend. Two of Palmer's three interceptions in a 23-7 loss to the Steelers on Sunday were returned for touchdowns. Not only did Palmer move into a tie with Brett Favre for the NFL interception lead with 18, he also has had five returned for touchdowns. "Completely my fault," Palmer said. "This loss is completely on my shoulders." With over 5 minutes left in the second quarter and the Bengals up 7-0 with possession at their own 33, safety Troy Polamalu intercepted Palmer's pass and returned it 45 yards to tie the game. Pittsburgh never trailed again. "You certainly can't spot them 14 points like we did today," Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis said. "That's too difficult to overcome."

  3. that's the problem though. They have an awful backups situation and have nothing to turn too.

I still can't figure out why Palmer went down the crapter after his knee injury. The 2 years before the injury he threw for over 4000 yards a season, and looked like a future Super Star. After the injury he consistently makes bad reads, and throws picks. Kind of strange.

  5. he had elbow surgery as well. That's the reason for his troubles not the knee.
