NFL commissioner Roger Goodell was named the most influential person in sports this week by SportsBusiness Journal. It's the first time Goodell, who ranked No. 2 on the list last year, has topped the annual rankings. His predecessor, former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue, was named the most influential person in 2004. The No. 1 ranking comes as Goodell is overseeing the NFL's negotiations with the NFL Players Association over a new collective bargaining agreement. The current deal is set to expire in early March, and the specter of a potential work stoppage looms over both sides. Source: USA Today
