It won't do them any good now, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers received a written apology from the NFL for Sunday's pass interference call against tight end Kellen Winslow. Winslow was called for interference on a fourth-quarter play in which he jostled with safety C.C. Brown in the end zone before reaching up and grabbing what appeared to be a touchdown pass from quarterback Josh Freeman. The call nullified the touchdown leaving the Bucs with third-and-goal at the Lions 12, which they failed to convert. Tampa Bay kicked a 30-yard field goal to tie the game at 17 in what proved to be a 23-20 overtime loss. Bucs coach Raheem Morris refused to comment on the letter from the league, but offensive coordinator Greg Olson said it wasn't the first time this season the Bucs have received such a letter.

I agree. That the officials that blew the call will get a 'naughty boys' rating for the week, the letter makes everything A-OK.

It's amazing how when a player gets fined it's reported faster then FedEx can get the letter to them, but the NFL coddles the refs and NEVER reports any kind of reprimand against them.

    In a word: BULLCRAP.

Just want to bump this thread and give the "officials" in that game a humongous

    FREAK YOU BUTTHOLES

Bucs would be playing Saturday if you rodwads hadn't made the worst call of the entire year.

    Rebumped.
    1. They need to get this category in the ESPY's.
    2. Wonder if the NFL even gives a heck of the economic impact on an entire community one bad call can make. Tampa/St. Pete ought to add it up and send Roger the bill.

Exactly. Prolly a good thing we aren't playing/hosting a playoff game though. When's the last time a playoff game was blacked out?

    Lil' bit yeah.

Every team, every season has horrible calls against them that could cost them a victory. Officials are a human element that will make mistakes. At least the NFL actually takes the time to address mistakes instead of acting like they didn't occur.

Dawk did you see the play I'm talking about.

Seriously the worst game changing call I've seen since the "tuck rule game".

Yes, but do you think the call was awful on purpose?

Of course not but, that was simply a brain fart of a call.

Granted we had the chance to beat the Falcons twice and couldn't do it. But a call like that late in the season has consequences and the refs should have some too.

The refs do get consequences. They are graded and could lose their jobs with enough bad calls.
