i have no problem with where my formula has the chiefs. if you look at any formula-based ranking out there, the chiefs are middle of the pack. the niners finished the season stronger than the rams and seahawks. the niners won 6 of their last 11. the hawks lost 7 of their last 10 and the rams lost 5 of their last 8. the formula feels the niners were the best team in the nfcw at the end of the season but they just came up 1 game short because of their horrid start. and i really can't disagree with it. if the niners had avoided their atrocious 0-5 start and won just a couple of those games, they would be in the playoffs ............
ravens get wayyyyyy too much love. steelers beat the falcons, and beat the ravens eery time roethlisberger has played a joe flacco led ravens team. so they squeaked out one over dixon last year and batch this year. im unimpressed. i hope the steelers nad ravens play in the playoffs again his year
can a mathematical formula 'love' ........ ??? :icon_cheesygrin: that's kind of creepy ..... that's the great thing about a formula...... it has no preconceptions, it doesn't care that ben usually beats flacco (although i think there's more involved in the games than just those 2 players) ........... it just looks at the body of work and assigns a number ..... the downside, as you mention, is that a formula does not compensate for ben missing their first game against each other. it just sees it as a ravens win.
Steelers were less than impressive against teams with winning records. I don't recall what the Ravens record was against winning records, but I think it was better than the Steelers. Having said that, I agree that the Ravens get a lot of love that they don't deserve.
this is true, the saints and patriots gave them fits....but on no list should the ravens be above the steelers, formula or not lol i really would feel completely confident in a ravens/steelers afcc game, steelers own them with roethlisberger until further notice....steelers/patriots not so much, but i do think the ravens match up better with the patriots than the steelers do is it even possible for the ravens to play the pats in round 2? i guess the jets would HAVE to lose for that to happen
Just my :2cents: on the blog entry itself.... I suggest adding some text to this other than a chart. It doesn't feel like a blog entry, it feels more like a side blurb in a newspaper. It's too bad you opened up in the thread's comments and not in the article. Maybe next time add some commentary to the rankings. Maybe a quick recap to explain the scoring would too.
