Redskins Owner Hopes Albert Haynesworth, Mike Shanahan Can Work Together

Discussion in 'Washington Redskins' started by BigBlueBruiser, Feb 4, 2011.

  1. Redskins owner Daniel Snyder said he had "no idea" of the details of an incident two days earlier in which Washington DL Albert Haynesworth was accused of simple assault but expressed optimism that the controversial player can be a significant contributor next season. "It may still work out," Snyder said. "You never know." Fellow motorist, Joel Velazquez, 38, of Leesburg, Va., claims that Haynesworth left his vehicle and punched him in the nose during an altercation Wednesday in Reston, Va. Simple assault in that state is punishable by a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a fine that may not exceed $2,500. Although the legal process must play out, Snyder sounded as though he believes the team can still develop a good relationship with a player who repeatedly clashed with Mike Shanahan in his first year as head coach. "I want him to do the right thing and work with his coach, Mike Shanahan, and his general manager, Bruce Allen," Snyder said. He also outlined a future that may include aging QB Donovan McNabb. "I like Donovan very much," he said. "As a person, he's unbelievable. I think he's a good player."

Don't hold your breath Synder! Haynesworth finally had a coach who pretty much called him out this year and he still acted like a premadonna pr**k.
