Steelers Owner Dan Rooney Blocking Ed Sabol's Hall Of Fame Bid

Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News tweets that Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney is trying to block NFL Films founder Ed Sabol's bid for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. "A pox also on a man I used to admire, Dan Rooney, for also trying to block Ed Sabol's HOF entry. Talk about cutting off nose to spite face."

I heard the reason behind this is that he doesn't want Sabol inducted before Paul Tagliabue.......

 

If there are people more deserving, there are people more deserving. Sabol will get in eventually...it's inevitable.

Tagliabue deserves to get in.

 

He was commissioner in an era where two teams left Los Angeles (The second biggest TV market) and another leaving Houston, put two teams in two small markets (Charlotte & Jacksonville) in favour of Baltimore, Memphis & St. Louis and put together a CBA which has resulted in the chaos we've been exposed to for the last couple of years.

I think it's going to take a while for people to ignore that.

 

There are players that deserve to get in before both Sabol and Tagliabue...and they should...

Can't say I agree with you on that. I would induct Sabol in a heartbeat for what he has done for the making the history of the sport so accessible/intact and the way the game is broadcasted to this day. His mark on the sport is just as great as those who play it.
