A Great Idea For The Member Awards From Misfitz...Thoughts?

I was talking to misfitz in IM's tonight and he threw out a great idea....what if the Member Awards were like title belts where if someone won the award they got to wear it until someone else gets voted as the Award winner? I can set that up....any thoughts from the peanut gallery on what they think of the idea? I know the last time we had the awards almost destroyed the site due to the crush of sql queries to the database from so many awards being displayed. If we went this route the awards would then have a big drop in sql queries since the site would only look for them when the award winner posts.

So what do people think? Do they like the idea? Should we dust off the awards?

we can rename the donovan mcnabb award to the Albert Haynesworth award

 

If we go this route we'd ask the members what awards they want....maybe some of the old ones live, maybe some of them don't...and maybe some new ones are born.

well maybe we can have a Lombardi trophy for the winners since we are a NFL based site. I don't think it matters what it is, I more like the idea that it moves from member to member monthly so it won't bog down the site trying to loads a crapload of awards.
