The Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports that the Browns are likely to release QB Jake Delhomme. He is 36, and the report says he is due a base salary of $5.4 million in the last of his two-year deal. The Browns have little need for Delhomme with Colt McCoy expected to start in 2011. Source: CBSSports
Nope, We will win that division with someone else as QB. Delhomme hasn't been the same since the Cards put that beating on him a few years ago.
You are talking about the same franchise that keep Alex Smith for at least two seasons too long and signed David Carr to compete for the starting job.
I'm a Colt McCoy believer after seeing him 2 times this season against the Steelers. Most of the turnovers weren't even his fault. He's only going to get better too.
There's still so many Browns fans who are never satisfied though. For the first time in so long, there is no question who the starter is, and there's still a bunch of fans I've seen online who want to draft Cam Newton, trade for Kolb, or a number of other ridiculous moves. But I look forward to seeing McCoy develop as smart executives continue to address the team's holes.
