  1. Litez0ut

    Litez0ut Litez0ut Sucka

Yup. I think in a 3-4 he could prob play TED. He isn't that fast but can shed blocks.

  2. K Train

    K Train Do You Honeycutt?

solder is too thin for the position, he'll get raped as a day one starter.

jimmy smith is the truth....2nd/3rd round is a joke.

jj watt=adam carriker....not to much to be excited about there imo

bowers might be relentless but his first step sucks. its about robert quinn this year

Bowers is more of a complete player. He is actually a better run stuffer then he is a pass rusher. Wyatt and Carriker don't play anything alike. If you would've said Justin Smith then that seems more reasonable.

lol did you even watch Bowers or just pull this crap out your butt. Bowers is much better in run defense and hes yes they may be close in pass rushing ability. Quinns best season had 19 tfl and 11 sacks bowers had 15.5 sacks and 25 tfl . Bowers is the more complete player

JJ Watt is nothing like Carriker. Carriker is a better run blocker then watt and Watt is a better pass rusher then Carriker.

Jimmy smith needs a good running time to move into the 1st round but hes got potential

  5. Solder is too thin for the position? The guy weighs heckin 315. LOL

no it isn't a joke. Jimmy Smith is hot garbage. He needs ALOT of technique work.

Bowers is better than Quinn. Bowers is also better vs. the run as well as being better vs. the pbutt. Bowers first step is just fine.

Watt is alot better than Carriker coming out of college.

  6. K Train

    K Train Do You Honeycutt?

Watt isnt the same playing style as carriker, but they are similar situations. they are both DE scheme tweeners...kind of hard to place them. ill take jordan, heyward, or clayborn all day of watt.

i love robert quinn, maybe more so in a 34 as an OLB. clemson has a real hot streak going of producing sub par DEs that were praised as elite players...either early on like ricky sapp or right up to the 4th overall pick like gaines adams. now program pedigree for the position isnt everything but it at least deserves a mention of the kind of players these teams are producing. Quinn is the best pass rusher in the draft, if i want a better run stuffer at LDE in a 43 give me clayborn. bowers might be the more complete player, but quinn has vicious speed and is the better pass rusher

sure solder weighed in at 314 pounds, but have you seen him? hes very thin and not exactly the strongest player. theres a reason theres very very few 6-9 315 pound tackles in the league....its too thin for the position and will get the crap out leveraged cause its way to easy to get under their pads. imo jared veldheer was a better prospect (similar size, not as great an athlete but a much nastier punch and a much better run blocker), solder is going to benefit greatly from a complete lack of elite LTs in this clbutt.

i would absolutely love jimmy smith on the steelers, he reminds me alot of ike taylor...not as fast but definitely stronger. hot garbage might be a little strong, i say hes the #4 CB this year after PP, prince and harris

  7. fair point on Watt. I see what you mean.

what pass rushers has UNC produced other than Peppers?

he is more like 6'8. He will gain weight when he gets to the pro's and probably average 6'8 330 in his career. I agree on your other comments on Solder. He has GOT TO play with better leverage and technique. When he plays with technique he is a fantastic top 10 like player.

true it was a bit strong but I just don't like him. His backpedal is akward his hips are too tight and alot of CB's his height aren't successful. He just seems akward in coverage. I don't foresee him being in my top 5 CB list.

    K Train Do You Honeycutt?

UNC hasnt really produced many pass rushers, but their recruiting class was so sick for 2-3 year span with quinn, austin, sturviant, little, nicks, williams, and carter. those are all pretty serious HS recruits. im on board with alot of the tarheels lately and especially quinn

the thing with quinn as mentioned above is that his a liability against the run sometimes...not pathetic but its a cause for concern. hes listed at 270 and i dont buy it cause he has a pretty thin frame as well, hopefully hes up near there for the combine if he wants to play in a 43, if not hes surely the top olb conversion candidate...such a smooth player and so fast.

right now i think this CB class has an 08 epicness to it

    DRC
    Mckelvin
    Jenkins
    Talib
    Porter
    Flowers
    Cason
and i might be missing one or two notables

this year looks just as good imo

Peterson <---best CB prospect since pacman/dhall time at least, maybe even since bailey/woodson/newman era and will be the first top 5 CB since newman (i think, didnt look that one up)
    Amukamara
    Brandon Harris
    Jimmy Smith
    Aaron Williams
    Brandon Burton
    Curtis Brown
    Davon House
    Ras-i dowling
    Ckykie Brown
    Chimdi Chekwa
    ect...

im just a fan of this CB class, this class is sooo strong for CBs, 34 DEs, WR, and DTs. on the other end its weak at tackle, safety, and TE. just reasonably solid as far as interior linemen, LBs, RBs, QBs, and 43 DEs go

no hes not better then Carriker coming out. Carriker coming out he put up huge combine numbers hes bigger stronger and faster then watts and hes better against the run. Hell Watts didnt even have more sacks then Carriker coming out. There games are completely different. Carriker was asked to put up 20 pounds to play nose tackle in a 4-3 something Watt could never play. The only thing the two have in common is they are both white and tall.

  10. K Train

    K Train Do You Honeycutt?

aside from both being white they are both schematically versatile (supposedly) and have had similar stock increase over the same period of time.

i hated carriker as a prospect, and i dont really care for watt....especially seeing him mocked in many top 10s. heck that noise, thats insane.

i guess even an expert of the universe like yourself cant understand what i mean when i say carriker 2.0....i dont like him, i doubt i ever will, and i think hes gonna be a flop, especially in the top 10-15....similar careers, similar fate imo

Sapp never was or will be the prospect Bowers is and is going to be. Gaines Adams brought a different game then Bowers. Bowers is a run clogger that can sack the QB. Something a lot of DES lack these days they either can do one or the other. Quinn has good speed but also hasn't played football in a year. I don't think he will be as effective as a 4-3 DE as he would an OLB in a 3-4. Adams didn't bring the kind of game Bowers does nor did he have a single season like him.

When you say Carriker 2.0 or compare him to Carriker it sounds like u think they are the same player which they are not. We differ on Carriker because i liked him alot as a prospect in a 3-4 he was drafted and asked to play NT in 4-3 a spot he never should have played hes a 3-4 DE and guess what this year in that spot he won the starting job and was praised heavily because it fits his strength.

Im not an expert of the universe i just have a different opinion and engaging in conversation about a player. I didnt call you names or make fun of you so id expect the same courtesy back.

Btw im not high on Watt

out of HS sapp was billed as the next big thing as far as DEs go. obviously his knees were shot by the time draft time came around, but still. Gaines was an "elite" prospect. I personally loved him as a 34 conversion guy, a bit big but looked fantastic in drills at the combine. i understand they are different players but it should at least be mentioned about the recent flop DEs out of clemson.

but anyway i cant help but see jamaal anderson in bowers. bowers was a good prospect and had a great year that year and went 8th overall. what do you see that separates those two? (as prospects)

heres a scouting report on anderson i found

eerily similar in every category imo

i thought carriker was an ok 5 tech, i would have hated him on the steelers (timmons <3)

i agree he never should have been drafted to a 43, let alone NT in a 43...that was not his game at all. but watt is not an elite pass rusher, hes an ok 5 tech prospect or LDE in a 34, but i just dont buy the hype on this guy. i do hate the big 10s competition though, so i might be a little biased but his play does not impress me as a top DE this year....especially as a 5tech and with so many other guys that are better players and offer scheme versatility as well

Woodley i had pegged for a top 10 pick in that draft and i couldnt believe he dropped like he did i was so sure he would be a 3-4 OLB and put up the numbers hes putting up right now. Amazing that you guys got timmons and Woodley in the same draft. Meanwhile my team passed on him 3 times =(

and i agree with watt i think hes a late first round prospect that is going to be just ok.

  15. I don't think Watt should go top 10 I'm sorry I just don't see it.

  16. K Train

    K Train Do You Honeycutt?

i had woodley as a second round guy at best, i thought he was big, stiff, lazy, and afraid of competition...which at the time i do think he was all of those things. i was wayyyyy higher on anthony spencer actually, im glad woodley turned out to be what the cowboys hoped spencer would be right off the bat
