Raiders Will Receive Draft Pick If CB Nnamdi Asomugha Signs Elsewhere

    If Nnamdi Asomugha does in fact sign with another team the Oakland Raiders won’t be left entirely out in the cold. Despite the fact Asomugha will be an unrestricted free agent, the team will still receive a compensatory pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. ESPN’s Bill Williamson points out that the pick is likely to be the No. 97 overall pick, which would fall at the end of the third round. By rule, the highest compensatory pick available is in the third round. Asomugha’s contract voided after the season.
