The Buffalo Bills don't try to hide their disappointment in outside linebacker draft bust Aaron Maybin, the former first-round draft pick from Penn State has zero sacks and 27 tackles in two seasons. At the end of the season, Bills coach Chan Gailey described the former Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Year's roster status as tenuous. Maybin remains on the roster, but the AFC East club obviously regrets drafting him. It got even more blunt today. Gailey told reporters, per ESPN.com, that Maybin isn't bringing it, regardless of whether it's a game or a practice, saying he "hasn't shown it in practice or in games." miller is much more complete of a player and has already been playing 3-4 olb he doesnt have to transition at all maybin was a speedy 4-3 DE who was crap in coverage and had only speed they are not the same player id be shocked if miller had 0 sacks in 2 years
Miller wasn't a one year wonder in college like Maybin was. He wasn't even a starter at Penn State the year before he declared for the draft. He took advantage when injuries vaulted him into the starting lineup.
In Maybon's defense, he only played 2 seasons. The second of which he started before being drafted. It's easy to say he was a one year wonder...
He had two years left of eligibility at Penn State but decided to strike while the iron was hot and just on that......I can't blame him for leaving if there was a real chance that he would be a Top 15 pick. But two years later.....you can say that wasn't the right decision. He could've used at least another year at Penn State before going pro. But who knows......the end result probably would've remained the same.
Right. It's easy to say he was a one year wonder with two years of eligibility left. Who knows how that would've panned out. Most likely could've helped his development, but may not have been drafted so high.
Sure, he is by all interpretations a complete failure so far.. but he's also still a very young kid. I wouldn't mind seeing Cleveland try to move him back to 43 end on a small contract if he's released
this is what most people dont understand when it comes to busts. Most of the time to be a bust you have to be a top pick well top picks go to bad teams and if your going to a bad team with a bad coaching staff even joe montana would fail. Does anyone really think that Joe Montana would have been Joe Montana if he went to the bucs. Hell Steve Young was a buc on that crap team and he was garbage went to sf and was all of a sudden a hall of famer? Coaching matters look at the steelers or patriots they have such good coaching and know their system inside and out you can plug anybody in any position and they will produce
