Jerry....you have done it again brother. I had doubts he be there at No. 1985 and don't know why he slipped....but I'm glad he did and we took him.
Unlike our recent mid to late round LB's......Jones is very capable of being an effective starter for years. Guy is nasty, productive and always shows up.
I think he slipped because of his size and that he will be a liability in coverage, but he is a beast that will work hard and lay it all out to get better. I still didn't think he would slip that far.
He's still better than half of the LB's that were taken ahead of him. He can start from Day 1. He's a poor mans Jon Beason......another beastly LB.
No doubt...... I think he'll push Sintim to start at SAM as a rookie....but that shouldn't be too difficult. This is Reese's best draft since '07.....and could be even better.
I am stoked......not often you get a LB in this portion of the draft than can start right away and be productive. LB has been a need for the Giants in a while and finally....we get a real player in the draft at the position. Philip Dillard is nothing more than a backup/special teamer.
