yeah, by taking a bunch of undersized guys, Kelce is only 280 with little to no growth potential. Vandervelde and Kelce are to freaking small to be staples on the Oline. Here's Kelce's writeup on NFL.com, it sums it up nicely... National Football League: NFL Draft 2011 - Jason Kelce Kelce has the mobility and mentality to make it as a reserve center in the NFL. However, does not have the size or power to project as a starter. In pass protection, does a good job getting set, can slide and feet and move laterally but struggles with the pull rush and pass rushers with a wide array of moves.
Here's more, now we are drafting backups who are better suited to play in a zone system. WOW National Football League: NFL Draft 2011 - Jason Kelce Has the feet and quickness to project well in a zone blocking scheme but still needs to become more consistent locating his man on the second level. Is never goiWOWng to be a road-grading run blocker who blows defenders off the ball. Late-rounder or rookie free agent.
Yay another backup/special teams player, too small to play LB and not athletic enough to play safety. WOO hoo, the title of the Eagles 2011 draft should be undersized backups. Almost every pick is undersized. What are they thinking?
I love taking players from small skools Ive never heard of. Especially when there are better players on the board
Yeah, that's a head scratcher, hell the whole Eagles draft has been a head scratcher. So many undersized guys all over the place and backups when starters are there. A lot of blind loyalists will just accept this crap, I only think the Eagles have one better than average pick and that's a kicker. ouch!
If they wanted undersized, they could have taken Homan, at least he has speed and could develop into a starter on the weak side. Rolle is a ST player and backup only.
