Panthers WR Steve Smith Wants To Be Traded To Chargers, Raiders?

    It's common knowledge that Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith is doing everything -- including cleaning out his locker and attempting to sell his Charlotte-area home -- to indicate that he wants out. Chuck Carroll of FootballNewsNow.com reports that an NFL source tells him Smith is interested in going to either the Raiders or the Chargers next season. Oakland would probably make a play -- Smith is FAST and we know how much Al Davis likes SPEED. But would San Diego give up a talented youngster or an early-round pick for Smith when it's already clear that they can operate successfully with low-end wide receivers on the field? That being said, Smith doesn't exactly control his destiny in terms of where he'll end up playing in 2011, and you can expect the Panthers to use his value in an effort to try and rebuild on the fly.

    If he does in fact want to go to the Raiders his head should be checked. Clearly there was some undiagnosed head injury he suffered last year to be thinking that way.

    another Peppers situation. Ship him to Chicago. That's where the Carolina cast-offs seem to wind up anyway.

    litez out, i disagree, we are NOT set at WR.... with Legedu Naanee... hitting the road, and Dagos most hated VJ not signing his tender yet, there is some uncertinty at the position, yes, im sure VJ will sign, however you cant count on that dirt bag once he gets the $$$, I WANT HIM GONE, what better would it be sending him to a last place team...and Receiver Malcom Floyd received a first- and third-round tender, which is what the Chargers would get in compensation under the current rules should another team sign him.Gotta luv it..
    On second thought steve smith stats sucked 14 game-46 catch-554 yards-12.0 avg-2 td, as for dirt bag---> 14 REC-248 yards-avg 17-and 3 TD in 5 games,,, trade wound'nt be fair

    This team is on the brink of doing something good finnally since 2002. We have every thing lined up in the coaches and most of the same talent returning from last year. So its not as insane as it probly once seemed in the last 8 years... and not to forget that your Big ben steelers is 1-3 against this horrible team.

    Say what you want about Vjax but he changes that SD offense and makes it more dangerous then M80 and his lack of hands.

    if VJ plays for the chargers this year, mark my words, he will do what he can to ruin it for all of us.
