Gus Johnson Joins FOX Sports As NFL, Pac-12 Play-By-Play Man

Gus Johnson, whose frantic play-by-play became a trademark of March Madness, is officially out at CBS and headed to Fox. "CBS declined to match Fox's offer," said an industry source. "They let Johnson's people know today." A CBS source who wanted Johnson back said not only money, but politics was an issue. The source said some of CBS Sports' college hoops voices were not thrilled with Johnson's rise to March Madness' most popular voice. Johnson now moves to Fox as an NFL and Pac 12 football play-by-play man.

Gus is my favorite sports announcer right now. Dude, seems to get all the best calls whether it be NCAABB, NFL, or NCAAF.

 

Damn, I always look forward to Chiefs games where Gus is announcing. Now I'll have to pray he announces one of the two home NFC games. :icon_sad:
