If we have a Monday Night Football this fall, it will have a new look. ESPN has redesigned the logo to give it a more modern feel. "Every year we go back and analyze the entire show in the offseason to raise the bar and make our presentation even better," said senior vice president and executive producer Jed Drake. "The logo has been a point of focus this spring, developing a new mark that embodies the energy, spirit and tradition of Monday Night Football." "After exploring a variety of design solutions, we created a bold, symmetrical badge that contains and showcases ESPN, Monday Night Football and the NFL shield," said creative director Michael Ruddy."The logo was designed with a sculpted framework that adds strength. The color red dominates the palette, and the stadium lights around ESPN illuminate the badge and exemplify that MNF is in primetime. Metal, rubber and pigskin textures also add tactility." http://www.mediabistro.com/sportsnewser/the-monday-night-football-logo-gets-a-new-look_b10386
They've come a long way: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8fkMkE2Yjg]YouTube - Monday Night Football intro (1973)‏[/ame]
If I were NFL Network I'd be lining up some classic games to show if there's a lockout. I'd rather watch that than the UFL.
I think the NFL Network should launch an on-demand service.......pick and choose any classic NFL game you want to see. Plus any other original NFL Network programs.
At that point the only thing that would be missing would be the beer spout for the magic beer from the NFL's sponsors and an butthole on my TV so it can crap out golden eggs shaped like footballs. On demand would be sick. They did have a video option on NFL.com that allows you to play games from the previous season on demand. The collection of classics though would be great. Throw in all of the NFL Films and I'd be pounding at the door to buy whatever I needed to watch that.
