Britain has had an equivalent of a same-s*x marriage (Civil Partnership) for six years now, and from this, I am able to produce a graph on what will occur in the event that same s*x marriage is legalised across the states:

I probably shouldn't even give my time to this subject but I feel I need to contribute. I for one am not a gay basher or some sort of hater. I truly believe in live and let live. But like it was stated before. I don't think gays should be able to marry. I was raised to believe that marriage is something you do in front of God. Now that is not to say gays can't get benefits like married couples do. (insurance, retirement etc.)

I mean.. do you really want your children to see 2 of the same s*x get married? I really don't think young minds need to see these things. Now when they get older and have more of a grasp on reality then whatever.. But I just don't think it is something our kids needs to see.

As far as Tyree.. He does need to choose his words better. I think he could have approached this subject better. Maybe keep his opinions in church or with family. Not air it out for the whole interweb to see..

Go ahead and flame away. (pun intended) :p

I think we all need to try to keep this thread related to Tyree and Gay Marriage. If you want to debate the topic of Gay Marriage, we can start a thread in the Crossfire Forum.

    My apologies..

And honestly, I would want nothing to do with that thread.. lol These kinda subjects just end up being page after page of religion vs. non religion. Nothing good comes from those kinda threads.

Just because one doesn't Believe in gay marriage does not make him/her intolerant or homophobic etc etc.... It's just his opinion.....

It's his opinion. Just like you voice your own, he's entitled to it. should he keep it more quiet given his status over our own? Possibly. Bashing someone for making his opinion known on gay marriage, is about as ignorant as bashing someone's religion.

I bash Tyree (and religion) because they make prejudices, ignorance, hatred, and intolerance seem like virtues.

    Bravo!

Religion is simply an ancient tool used by the powers of yesterday to keep the masses in line.

Look, I agree with Phigles, and that never happens. That has to tell you something!

I think I found a nice debate topic for the next monthly debate eh?

Look, Tyree is an intolerant butt hole and I will bash him repeatedly for it. The things he says are more goobered than anything I have ever read in my life.

Just the fact he sid it isn't why most people bash him (though I admitadley do). To me its just as much about thim thinking anyone gives a heck what he says cause he got lucky and caught a ball. And yes, I prejudize people who are bigots, which I believe people on that side of the argument are. I have friends and family that disagree with me, but I won't say I don't lose respect for them. If it was the 60s I would disrespect segregationalists and if was the 20s I would disrespect people against women's suffrage. This is NO different, and in 40 years will be looked at the same exact way.
