List of legitimate Super Bowl contenders? This one goes to 11 AFC Patriots Steelers Ravens Jets Chargers Colts NFC Packers Saints Eagles Falcons Giants NFL.com news: List of legitimate Super Bowl contenders? This one goes to 11
question....why are the packers immune to the super bowl hangover? every year the talk is about how there's just no way the champs repeat because of the super bowl hangover.
Not buying the Giants or the Chargers. Until the Chargers show me they can play the first 5 or 6 games. They have a great team but I have to see them prove it first.
I'd add Cowboys to the NFC list to be honest. Offense will be back on track with Romo's return and Rob Ryan running a defense with that much talent is just scary.
ive noticed this too, people treat them like they were setting the standard all year long and were just untouchable, which really wasnt the case at all
Cowboys have a lot of questions at the oline and secondary. They'll bounce back, but I don't see them competing for the SB. Giants definitely have the talent, but they're very inconsistent too.
Chargers (Slow Starters, Norv Turner), Colts (Reliant on an ageing QB with a weak D) and Giants (Problems on offense) shouldn't be on that list IMO.
I have a feeling Peyton Manning will get his team to another SB,& i hate to jump on anybodys bandwagon but the Eagles will have there best chance at a SB this year. Don't forget the Texans this year, having a good defense could happen.
In the nfl anything can happen theres always a unexpected team coming up. After seeing the 8-8 cardinals make it to a superbowl i think any team is a contender.
Eli is an overrated QB IMO so I don't see the Giants. I completely agree this analysis on the Colts. Who knows maybe the Chargers get it together. I hope not though because I abhor Phillip Rivers.
The Cardinals were actually 9-7 that year, but the point is stlill valid. I think the Chiefs actually merit some discussion on the AFC side. If the Rams receivers can stay healthier, they might merit some legit discussion. I could easily see either team hosting a conference championship game (again see 2008 Arizona Cardinals).
I disagree on the Eagles having the best chance, and this isn't because im a Giants fan and hate philly, but its because alot....ALOT of Vick's success last year was, imo, luck based. He is not very accurate, and if you take Jackson out of the game, all hes got is the run. Jackson gives him the ability to just throw the ball far, and he'll get to it. Teams will learn how to play Vick, and Philly will rely more on their running game.
Cowboys aren't SB contenders IMO. I would add TB on that list. I don't see Indy as strong contenders.
I am not quite sold on Philly.. If they can make it all come together they will be scary. That and Vick needs to play all 16 games. (not sure that will happen, it has only happened once or twice his whole career)
I tend to agree on both Dallas and the Bucs. The problem I have with Tampa is that they have to pretty much go through the Saints and Falcons to get a spot in the playoffs and that's not an easy task nowadays.
