The OFFICIAL Atlanta Braves 2011 Thread (Taking Back The East)

This week, Braves are #5 in Sportsline.com's power rankings. Second best record in NL -- I don't really know how, but I'll take it. There's a lot of baseball to be played, still. I kinda wish Braves would make a trade to get another good hitter, but I don't know that they will this season. Should be interesting though, as it seems they win and the Phillies win, and they lose when the Phillies lose..keeping them at the same amount of games behind in the division. I'd love to see an increase in games ahead in WC in the next couple weeks though.

 

HUGE series coming up to end the 1st half of the season. let's do this snitches ! :cope:

well tonight's game may be tough to get in. the thunderstorms are supposed to get here late this afternoon and not leave till after after midnight.

 

Should be a good series between the top two teams in the NL. Usually is good with these two, and the division lead on the line for the end of the first half of the season. Braves have to sweep to take a 1/2 game lead, which will be VERY hard to do in Philly, and to follow up a 4-game sweep of the Rockies? Nonetheless, if they continue offensive production like they did against the Rockies, we should be in good shape. If not? We're in trouble.

 

well i think both fanbases can agree it's better to battle for the divsion between our teams then to have the greasy dirty tranny led mets in the picture.

 

Lol. Definitely so. And the Marlins have all but faded from existence now. The Phillies and Braves have again taken to fight amongst themselves at the top.

that was a bit surprising for sure. great series overall though. the staring pitching on both teams was sick.

 

Alright. Here we go. Come out of the break, take a close series with the Nats 2-1. Now we head to Colorado, who we swept in a four game series in the beginning of this month. We need to stay hot, need these series now. This could become like last season..when Braves lose..Phillies lose, and vice versa, making it hard to catch them -- BUT..we need to put some separation between us and the rest of the chasers.

 

Well. Freddie Freeman is starting to come around, isn't he? 5 Home runs in 5 games against the Rockies this season. 5 in a row against Colorado for us. Taking at least 3 of this four game series would be awesome. These next two series SHOULD go our way, but never know. Rockies, then Reds.

 

Interesting note, last year on this date, Braves were 54-38. Finished 91-71. Braves this year: 57-39 today. Finish? over or under 90?

 

well all i know is the braves will join the phillies in an elite group very soon. :icon_cool:
