Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area reports the San Francisco 49ers are creating cap space to pursue cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha. They will cut $2.375 million in salary with the release of reserve quarterback David Carr on Thursday. The club also plans to create plenty of cap space by addressing Nate Clements' $15 million cap figure. If Clements does not agree to a drastic reduction, the 49ers will likely release him, according to sources. The 49ers have more than $8 million in cap space before touching Clements' contract. I'm honestly not that huge of a fan of this. Ya, i like Nnamdi, but I don't like overpaying and that is what we would have to do. I like Grimes and the guy from Cin whose name I can't remember right now better as value. That way we can pursue someone like Landry at safety, because our safetys SUCK!
your thinking of Jonathan Joseph and im sorry but i would pay twice as much for nnamdi he is possibly the best CB in the league(some argue revis but nnamdi is a lil more complete)
Well looks like Houston is out of the running so now Nnamdi can either stay in the bay and lose or go to a team that is guaranting a superbowl win...
