FOXSports.com has learned that the Saints and Dolphins have agreed to terms of a trade that would send former Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush to Miami. The deal is still contingent upon Bush’s agent Joel Segal working out a new contract with the Dolphins. Bush is also still deciding whether he wants to take the deal. It is unclear what the Saints are receiving in return. New Orleans had no intention of keeping Bush this season under the terms of his current contract — an $11.8 million base salary and a cap figure of $16 million. Source: FoxSports
DAMN i wanted him. i wouldnt be surprised with a reignited career surge from bush. hes their second best WR now and running behind that oline should be a new reggie bush.
Hmmmm, Ricky Williams: Heisman winning running back, drafted by NO traded to MIA Reggie Bush: Heisman winning running back, drafted by NO traded to MIA
Yeah. Mark Ingram. Heisman winning running back. Drafted by New Orleans. Stays in New Orleans <3 Saints got their franchise running back in Ingram. Pierre will eventually be let go, traded, or be an after thought once Ingram takes over. I think Ivory as a second back, isn't bad but he may have potential to start somewhere, too. Who knows? Saints have a lot of weapons..Bush just seemed to be the one they didn't want to deal with anymore.
Saints might miss Bush a little bit but it's not going to matter with the backs they have. It sucks for Bush b/c Payton knew where, when and how to use Bush. Not sure other teams will use him properly...
Dolphins may try to plug him into the wildcat. The only problem is, Bush can't do much when he gets the ball in the backfield.
Wildcat was rarely seen last year. That is a complete non factor. Reggie so far has shown that he's more valuable as a receiver than a runner, so why not stick him out wide where he seems to excel? It's like everyone is chasing the golden pot at the end of the rainbow when it comes to having Bush as a successful RB.
He needs to be used at WR. But, I don't see the Dolphins doing that, at least not at first. He's only got a two-year deal.
The Dolphins love to have a check down RB. Bush will be that. And the main between the tackle running will be done by Thomas. And so far it only cost the team Johnathan Amaya.
