The Punk/McMahon back and forth stuff was great. And then Cena showed up. As soon as he made fun of McMahon's breath and asked if he "ate Bigfoot's diaper," I face palmed.
Punk completely outshone Cena in both promos. Where Punk goes thoughtful and edgy, Cena goes p**p jokes and toeing the corporate line. If it's true what Orton says in that Cena does his own promos, then my god he needs a writer. He just doesn't make you believe in the content of his promos, it just comes off as very corporate and fake, which ain't great considering he's the only one of the three that have stared in multiple films (Which, ironically, were as bad as his acting). Where Punk talking by himself and Punk with Vince were thrilling, edge of the seat TV, Cena seemed to act almost as a sedative. Which is a shame, because he is charismatic and very good on the mic, just the content of what he says sucks. But going back to the positives, Punk, just wow. Heel Punk has always been gold on the stick, but man has he put it up a notch. What makes it so great is because everything he says, real or not, is believable. He makes you believe in what he says, and it's so disappointing that they have waited til now to fully utilise their greatest talent. I'd be tempted to compare him in a way to Jericho. A guy supremely multi-talented in the ring and the mic, but under appreciated and not used to their fullest. If it's all a work and Punk stays, I'll be over the moon.
I almost want to watch this PPV but I get feeling they are going to do something lame to end that match. Chicago screw job?

Very good Raw again last night. JoMo's back, Zack Ryder had a match and WON! and CM Punk coming back with the face turn fully solidified. I really hope Cena puts Punk over, because having Cena defeating him yet again would not be good at all for business.

Ryder actually got a decent pop to. I was, however, disappointed with the reception Punk got. I don't know if it was because they played a different theme song or what, but he didn't get the pop, I am sure, the guys in the back were looking for. I assume he's re-signed in the storyline. Would be rather stupid for HHH to say he's still a free agent when he came out of the back. If Cena beats Punk, forget it. The last several weeks would have been a waste. And as far as ratings, I won't be shocked if they were the same or less than last week.
While Cena does make the WWE money, he DOES NOT, I repeat, DOES NOT need the WWE Title. I will be very dissapointed in WWE's writers if Cena ends up the champ in the end. Maybe Punk and Cena can top their match they had at Money In The Bank at Summerslam with a Ladder match. Maybe they can't... This is the first John Cena angle i've looked foward too in a LONG LONG time.
That was Punks entrance music in ROH. When it hit, I went nuts. That being said, I thought they should have held punk out a little longer. Maybe have him appear the week before Summerslam. Loved that he got a bigger pop than Cena.
he just showed Cena and the WWE you dont have to be crammed down the fans throat to become the favorite of the crowd........................Cutting an unbelieveable promo will do more then any push. That was his Austin moment His Rock Moment his DX Moment. That promo has made him the most popular superstar in the WWE and that display last night was classic because 5 minutes before the crowd went crazy that cena won. Only to basically cast him aside when Punk came out.
How has Punk gotten so much love lately? I've never cared for him. Are people that tired of Cena? Also, what happened to all the talk about Cena becoming a heel? I guess money wins out again.
1. Punk has always been loved by the Internet Wrestling Community (IWC), but since the worked shoot it's gone into overdrive, and the marks have hopped onto the bandwagon. I've always liked Punk but his original face run sucked and only since when he heel turned on Jeff Hardy has he come into his own (Interestingly when the WWE put less focus on him). 2. IWC has always been tired of Cena. Marks will always mark for Cena, but yeah, Punk has become the edgy anti-hero that Orton could only ever dream of. 3. Cena turning heel is an IWC obsession for years now. Of course heel Cena would freshen his character up 10000000%, but as he still remains super popular with the marks who make up the brunt of the audience and those who open their wallets up, he ain't turning. The Cena turn will only occur when he stops making the WWE money and there's a viable replacement, and at the moment, neither exist.
Whatever happened to the anonymous Raw GM angle? I thought it would be revealed by now who it was. It's gone on for so long, I don't really care who it is anymore. The WWE doesn't really excite me. It's the same old feuds. I'd rather watch an MMA bout than the WWE.
