Eagles Place CB Asante Samuel On Trading Block

NFL Network’s Mike Lombardi reports that the Eagles are now willing to look at trade offers for cornerback Asante Samuel. After the Eagles made headlines by signing CB Nnamdi Asomugha, their depth at cornerback became really good, too good. The Eagles had already traded away Kevin Kolb for CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and with Asante Samuel on the roster the Eagles had invested a lot of money in the corner position. That, on top of the fact that wide receiver DeSean Jackson is looking for a new contract. Samuel and Asomugha are both making starting cornerback money and it will be hard for Philly to structure a contract for Jackson when they have so much money invested in those two players.

Get rid of some of the lesser CBs and other players. Try to keep Asante

Itd be better to trade Samual to San Francisco for a 5th round pick. Too bad Andy prolly wants 2 first Rounders.

 

2 first rounders? Andy is on that CRACK ROCK if he thinks he can get that for Samual... I was thinking more a 2nd or 3rd.. And the 2nd is a stretch.

Asante does have some good value and will yield some results, but I highly doubt he will get a 1st. But then again there are some stupid GM's out there.. lulz

 

None of them would be a backup. Move one of them to FS or SS

 

You do know the Eagles already have a pretty good FS in Nate Allen? And the Only Cb that would possible move to a SS would be Asomugha, and moving him to SS would be insane.

 

Couldn't Asante just play the nickel?? But I do like the idea of him possibley playing at FS.

Move him to the Jets. They need a CB and could probably pick up a draft pick or 2.

 

Let's trade a Pro Bowl cornerback. The guy who has the most picks over tge last five years. That makes more sense then finding ways to get all three of these guys on the field.
