Jets Sign Free Agent WR Plaxico Burress To One-Year Deal

Plaxico Burress will indeed join the Jets, according to a team source. The details aren't exactly known but Burress accepted the Jets' offer. It's a one-year deal for $3,017,000 guaranteed. The Jets now have one of the best wide receiver groups in the league. Burress was out west visiting the San Francisco 49ers. The story actually first leaked when a friend of Burress, running back Fred Taylor, congratulated Burress on his joining the team. Burress later wrote on his Twitter page: "East Coast here I come!"

I didn't really. I wouldn't have complained, but I want to see Wallace, Sanders, Brown and Sweed get some action.

 

I guess the Jets were the only team stupid enough to offer multi-million guaranteed for him.

 

I did. But in not hurt he didn't sign. Not for that dough. Sweed takes over the world in 2011...

I saw a couple spots that think the Steelers offer was in the $2 million range.

Jets got a L for this one for the money they offered Plax ..Of course he goes to NY why wouldn't he?? No one was stupid enough to offer him that much.

 

I find it ridiculous that he get's out of jail and get's work right away. I understand he shot HIMSELF but he was carrying a concealed weapon that wasn't registered in the State of New York. The gun laws in NY are among the stiffest in the Nation and if were John Q. Everyman they'd still be in jail. When Michael Vick was released from prison he had to apologize to every man, woman and child in America and kiss so much butt he started to grow a butt crack in his forehead. I understand they were two totally different crimes but Plax didn't have to "prove" himself half as much as Vick did. Prison is prison is prison in my book.

I wanted to see Plaz back in a Giants uniform. But in the end he is with the Jets, who i don't mind him playing for. I love rex ryan and his style of play. im sure he will fit in just fine
