Apparently the sitdown that Osi Umenyiora had with Jerry Reese didn’t cover quite the ground the New York Giants were hoping it would. The organization has granted Umenyiora permission to seek a trade, according to an ESPN report, meaning the team could be losing its best pass rusher shortly. Umenyiora has been adamant that Reese failed to deliver on a promise of a new contract, and that is how he became involved in the Tom Brady lawsuit vs. the NFL. Per the report, the Giants will seek a first-round draft pick in return. This one looks like it will end in divorce although Umenyiora is expected to remain in camp for the time being. I'd say New Orleans, with Will Smith possibly being suspended for four games, but I doubt they go after him with the young talent they have.
I concur with ragman. Wouldn't miss him one bit. But a 1st? For a guy who will be 30 this year? That's steep. Doubt he goes anywhere unless the Raiders want him.
First round pick is way too steep for him... A highly doubt the Giants want him around though...he's going to be a freaking cancer on that team and in that locker room.
The type of player Osi is.. I could totally get on board with a 2nd and even go as far to say a conditional 4-5 too. Osi is gonna make someones defense much better. Maybe Dallas?? :icon_redface:
Teams are hoping we lower our asking price to either a second or third round pick. A second would be no problem......a third not so much.
i dont think the Giants have any intentions on trading him away...they still have 2 years of his contract. maybe next year.
