49ers Sign Free Agent SS Donte Whitner To A Three-Year, $11.75M Deal

  1. Former Bills strong safety Donte Whitner has agreed to a three-year, $11.75 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers. The deal includes $4 million guaranteed. Whitner had said on Twitter earlier Thursday that he was going to join the Cincinnati Bengals.

    I guess it would explain why the 49ers are trying to get rid of Taylor Mays.

    SMH if he hasn't confirmed his signing with the 49ers I'm more inclined to believe he's headed to Cincy.

    What is also interesting however is Whitner tweeted "Who Dey" just before the signing was announced he was heading to Cincinnati.

  9. Whitner text messaged media members that he was going to the Bengals, tweeted "Who Dey" on his twitter and the Bengals even posted the deal on their website.

    He changed his mind at the last minute.

    He's coming to a better defense! Haha I liked him coming out of college. Fits the traditional box safety role the niners like.
