Steelers quarterback Dennis Dixon said Monday that he never asked the Steelers to trade him, nor will he. However, that doesn't mean the Steelers' reserve quarterback wouldn't welcome a trade with open arms according to Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. "It's not that I don't want to (be traded), but I've never (asked for) a trade before," Dixon said. There was a report last week that Dixon's agent, Jeff Sperbeck, asked the Steelers to trade his client. Dixon did not refute that report. "He was kind of frustrated as far as things not going our way during free agency," Sperbeck said. Dixon said. Dixon, 26, was a restricted free agent this past offseason, and the Steelers slapped a modest fifth-round tender on him before the lockout. After shopping himself around the league for a week, Dixon decided to sign the tender to return to the Steelers for a little more than a $1 million. "It is kind of tough to say right now," Dixon said when asked if he wants to be traded. "As long as I have a job, I am happy. I love Pittsburgh to death, but if anything else comes my way, I will be happy as well." Source: theredzone.org
Rae Carruth was a WR, that dumbbutt. Why the Hell did RayRay hide in the trunk of a freaking car in freaking Nashville? Our players may be decent, but they sure as hell ain't smart
Stay on Topic. I get the feeling that if Dixon left Pittsburgh, he'd become more irrelevant than he is considered to be now. I'd like to see him get a majority of the snaps this preseason to really see what he is. Definitely, talent wise, better than Batch. Mentally, probably not. Leftwich is the obvious back up and then it's between a mental player or talent. I gotta think they keep Dixon around...but they love Batch so much...
LOL at the comments in this thread. i used to buy into dixon a little, didnt really like the pick when it happened and i really thought batch would have retired/been cut by now but im ready to move on from dixon, he should have played baseball tbh the dude is a sick short stop. PRYOR
Wouldn't mind Pryor at all as a 3. Not sure they would play him at TE...although it seems like they ate still looking for one...more along the lines of a blocking one.
