Rashaan Salaam has auctioned off the ring he received after winning the Heisman Trophy. The former Colorado standout sold the ring for $8,140 plus a 20 percent buyer’s premium at auction last week. The ring did not reach the $15,000 reserve but a buyer was found. Salaam rushed for 2,055 yards in 1994 when he won the award. He has not sold the prized trophy he received. The ring is reportedly missing a diamond. Salaam won rookie of the year honors with the Chicago Bears before his professional career quickly fizzled. Source: National Football Post
Ring shming. As long as you got that trophy. Although I would imagine you'd have to be pretty hard up to sell something like that.
Meh neither of them did anything for his pro career so I guess none of it matters. Yes, it would be nice to say I was a heisman trophy winner, but then you turn around and say I was an epic failure in the NFL!
