The New York Giants ended up losing two cornerbacks in one game as Brian Witherspoon learned on Tuesday that he has a torn anterior cruciate ligament. Less than 24 hours after losing Terrell Thomas to a torn ACL, the Giants suffered yet another blow to their thin secondary when they learned about Witherspoon's season-ending injury. "Just wanna say thank you to all who were behind me, and supporting me! My season has come to an end TORN ACL," Witherspoon tweeted. Sources confirmed the injury. Giants coach Tom Coughlin will speak to the media later on Tuesday afternoon. The Giants are in dire need of cornerbacks; they've now lost Thomas, Witherspoon and Bruce Johnson (Achilles) for the year, and first-round pick Prince Amukamara remains out with a broken foot and may not return until mid- to late-September. Highly doubt it.......those two seconds may "suddenly" turn into two firsts if we came a callin'.......
Oh you are absolutely right about that! I wouldn't be to surprised if another team loses another corner and starts bidding for Asante but even then i do not want to trade him... This is a huge luxury. Giants dropping like flies its just plain ridiculous and unfair... tough luck
Ralph Vacchiano: Twitter.com That could work.......move Kenny Phillips to FS and start Deon Grant at SS. Rolle started off his career as a corner but he got better when moved to safety. Webster, Rolle and Ross at CB would still be a solid group. Amukamara could return by early October.......
