Prince Amukamara wheeled his way through the Giants' locker room Monday night on a scooter, his left foot in a cast. It was a reminder of how little the first-round pick can do to help his beleaguered team right now. Amukamara broke a bone in his foot in just his second NFL practice and underwent surgery to have a pin inserted into it in early August. The rookie said he was initially told he would be out 8-10 weeks, and Tom Coughlin confirmed that timetable Tuesday. Reese told the Daily News he expects Amukamara back for Week 5 - at home against Seattle on Oct. 9. Source: NY Daily News
With the Giants' luck so far this year he'll probably fall down the stairs in week 4 and be out another 2 months.
That would be very good news.........at least this happened right before preseason. He no longer feels any pain in his foot which is another good sign. Our schedule is favorable early on in the season again so if we get Amukamara back for the stretch run....we should be okay.
When he gets back he might not help the Giants, at least not right away. But it sure as hell can't hurt them anymore then they're already hurting.
He's not getting the game reps though and when he comes back he'll have to learn to deal with that, but as a rookie, the reps aren't going to hurt...:icon_thumright:...unless of course he actually gets injured again.
