    This.

4 years and maybe $50-55 mil of it.

If he bombs, and there is a strong possibility of that, the Eagles are in trouble for those 4 years

How is it a strong possibility he bombs?

    Please explain.

Vick is an injury risk. Plus he still cant read a blitz or a defense.

damnnnnn isnt this his second 100 million dollar deal? thats nuts.

2 years ago he was working PT contruction and just trying to land a roster spot to pay some of his fines off and now hes on $100 round 2? heck good for him

injury wouldnt be considered "bombing" out IMO.

also he made major strides in reading defenses and seeing blitzes last year. major. he cant play RT and center while pklaying QB.

Major strides? End of the season teams got to him. And an injury would be bombing out because let's face it, VY is awful and Kafka is such an unknown.

  11. To be honest......Vick did have his first 3,000 passing yard season last season in Philadelphia.

Maybe Vick's game hasn't completely changed.......but he has become more of a quarterback with his improved passing.

I agree, he has improved, but he did have issues with poor decisions towards the end of the season.

  13. That's what he has to improve on this season......to remain consistent throughout the year......especially in the cold weather months of the season.

The problem is giving 40 million guaranteed to a player who hasn't proved he can be consistent.

The only problem I have with this deal is the timing. Why not wait until the season is over? Maybe because they're afraid of what Jackson might do?

  16. Money is thrown around like water in the NFL.......although the guaranteed part of it shocked me the most.

This is a lot of money to give to a guy who plays recklessly. And he's really only had one great season as a passer. I really hope he lives up to it, just seems risky to me.

yep, teams got to him ... again did vick play oline ? what qb would play consistently when he is constantly rushed & pressured like vick was ? if anything vick is "THE" reason the eagles overcame the piss poor oline play and still made it to the playoffs.

also, disagree on the bombing out as jj put it in the context that his play would regress. the injury issue to me is a valid point, however it's a seperate one.

They did it to free up cap space to sign Jackson.

Keep hearing that the Eagles and Jackson aren't even in the same ballpark right now.

Vick is only going to make about 11% of this contract. All his creditors, the Falcons, the lawyers, he'll have all his creditors paid off by 2014. He'll make about $1.8M a year if he goes the whole 6 years...
