While I'll miss Gurode, I think the message being sent is a good one. Players can no longer rest on their laurels and rely on what they did in the past to get by. It's what you're doing now that's important.

I think it is, though the Cowboys may not like to put it that way.

Over the years, Jerry has been guilty of keeping players past their prime. Maybe the release of Gurode signifies a change of thinking on his part.

I dont like this move due to the fact that from what Ive heard, Gurode fits what Garrett wants at OC. A big OC who can man up on NT's. Another reason is that we will be going with 3 new starters on the OL now, two being rookies one being a 2nd year undrafted free agent. Not to say Costa is going to suck or be a Pro Bowler, but thats ALOT of change real fast on an area that feeds of chemistry

And Gurode definitely hasnt lost anything skill wise and is a true Pro Bowler (being someone who has deserved there spots). he cant make line calls, but is one of the top 5 blocking Centers and may be the only OC in the NFL that can take NT's out of the game singlehandedly. Want a good lok at him, find some vid of the Cleveland game in 2008 where he absolutly manhandled Shaun Rogers
