Running back Chris Johnson's holdout is over, as he agreed to a four-year, $53 million extension, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. According to Schefter, the deal also includes $30 million in guarantees. National Football Post reported and TitanInsider.com earlier today that the deal was on the verge of being finalized to end his holdout that has been going on since training camp. Johnson had said he wanted to be paid as an elite playmaker, while the Titans kept their word, making him the highest paid running back in the NFL. The deal comes just before the Titans final preseason game tonight in New Orleans. Johnson won't play, but will be ready in plenty of time for the regular-season opener in Jacksonville on Sept. 11.

Finally, glad the organization kept their word. I'm even happier that this mess is over and we can move on.

FREAK YOU CHRIS JOHNSON BUT YOU BETTER NOT SUCK!!! He was autodrafted number 1 on my draft. I missed 1 pick, the first, it was CJ. But honestly, he better freaking knock it OUT OF THE PARK!

why ya gotta be a hater??? He was owed this money for a while now I just hope he has enough good oline players to help him cause if he doesn't he better limber up because he's going to be running for days.

I can't hate on anyone with skills like he has no matter what team they play for.

Frank Gore and Matt Forte both deserved new deals and both showed up and worked. Johnson is going to be like Revis last year, he is going to try and he is going to get hurt and miss significant time, and he is only hurting his team mates.

Um, Frank did not show up to camp when it first started because he was pissed and wanted a new contract even though he's still signed up through this year, I don't think he's any better in handling his business then CJ. But wishing a player to break his leg because he don't like how he's going about his business is just wrong dude.

Ok I don't wish his leg broken, just a hamstring pull.

And as I recall Gore only missed a few days but came back once the deadline for getting fined was in place.

Lol...not Larry Fitzgerald money, not even Adrian Peterson money.

True value is 6 year, $55 Million. Averages roughly $9 million/year.

  15. A four-year extension is fair for a running back.......

It will only be a matter if time before he's asking for another new deal...I give him 2 years before he's yapping about another deal...

  17. Yeah.....he'll want to be the highest paid player ever......lol

Once Peterson gets his "last" big deal, Johnson will be chiming in...
